Heartland Family Service will review gambling and substance use, ways it can have a negative impact on an individual’s life, and how that can be a hazard at work. Presenters will provide strategies to help prevent a problem from occurring in the workplace, as well as the proper tools to intervene if an employee discloses a gambling or substance use problem.

1. Trauma-informed workplaces increase employee retention and make a safer work environment.

2. Tips to identify gambling and substance use behaviors.

3. Identify ways employees may be using substances or gambling at work.

4. Strategize ways to protect your workplace from possible hazards of substance use or gambling at work.

5. Provide resources and tool kit to assist with trauma-informed policy development.

Each participant will walk away with a Gambling in the Workplace tool kit with resources and suggested workplace policies to protect its employees and business. Technical support will also be offered to each organization.
