A Spring Equinox Rattle Making Workshop

Our grandparents and ancestors celebrated seasonal changes and yearly cycles. These tribal rituals and celebrations brought meaning and purpose to their lives and enhanced their connection with the earth and with their community.

In celebration of The Spring Equinox, Life Dimensions by Ilona welcomes you to join us for a Rattle Making Workshop. Rattles are often seen as treasured gifts, spiritual markers of identity, a form of vibrational sound therapy and, as well as a drum, one of the significant tools used in Shamanic Journeying. While drum beats resonate with the energy of the heart center, the rhythmic rattle sounds break up patterns, and typically shift brain waves into a more sedate and receptive state, assisting in calming the nervous system. This open state of mind can allow shifts to take place on the physical, spiritual and emotional levels. To create a rattle is an act of manifesting spirit into form; of bringing a power object to life.

Creating your personal rattle is a way to celebrate and honor the season of renewal of the Spring Equinox. It is a ceremonial way to enhance your spiritual practice. Your rattle, infused with your unique essence, and used with focused energy, will support you to fulfill the seeds of the intents that you want to germinate and nurture during the year, assisting to empower you in shifting the energies of our shadow parts that are being brought to the surface in 2020.

This workshop will provide you with all materials needed to create your own gourd rattle, including: gourds, paint, feathers, sticks for handles, leather sinew and small crystals. .

Beverages, soup, hummus and Bread will be provided. In honor of community celebration we welcome potluck dishes you would like to contribute.

What to Bring

We invite you to bring your own personal items for our altar (you will get these back) . Journal & Pen. Water.

What to Wear 

Cozy and Comfy clothing. Bring Socks. Blankets and, if you choose, a pillow.
