Secondary Trauma: A Natural Job Hazard

Secondary trauma is a natural hazard in this profession. In this training, participants will learn about secondary trauma and its possible impact on them as professionals. Topics include: what secondary traumatic stress is, how to recognize it, and an introduction to protective strategies for self and others. Learning Objectives: Be aware of the types of secondary trauma that impact professionals. Be able to recognize the warning signs of secondary trauma in self and others. Remember what protective strategies can be implemented daily to provide appropriate self-care. Remember what protective strategies can be utilized to support co-workers impacted by trauma.
