Description
The IMPACT for Women Summit is the inaugural event for the new Women’s Fund of Southwest Iowa, powered by the Pottawattamie County Community Foundation. This half-day event is packed with dynamic conversations geared toward sharing knowledge and building community to support women in our region. We invite you to be part of the dynamic event, starting off with a morning discussion focused on women in the workforce and the most relevant work happening from a statewide perspective with Debi Durham, Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Also scheduled are two fast-moving conversations -- one addressing childcare as a driver of economic development featuring Dawn Oliver Wiand, Executive Director of the Iowa Women’s Foundation, and the second discussion on opportunities and challenges around aging in place in rural communities with Lakelyn Hogan, Gerontologist and Caregiver Advocate with Home Instead Senior Care. The IMPACT for Women Summit culminates with Elizabeth Smart, renowned author and nationally recognized advocate for change related to child abduction, recovery programs, and national legislation.
