What You’ll Be Doing
As an Accountant, you will support the Director of Accounting by performing key responsibilities that ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Your role will include:
- Reconciling accounts and performing data entry
- Creating and analyzing spreadsheet reports to verify information
- Maintaining general ledger entries, records, and reconciliations
- Recommending improvements to current accounting procedures
- Researching and interpreting data to answer financial questions
- Preparing correspondence and supporting documentation
- Processing monthly bank reconciliations and assisting with payroll entries
- Supporting the Director of Accounting and CFO in preparing for audits and financial closings
- Monitoring compliance with HIPAA and internal policies
- Assisting with budget forecasts and variance analysis
- Training or guiding others on finance-related tasks

What You Need to Bring
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and solutions-focused professional who shares our values. Required qualifications include:
- Education: Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in accounting roles
- Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger functions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Other Attributes:
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively in a team
- Experience in a mission-based or non-profit organization is a plus
- Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evening or weekend work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold compliance standards
