POSITION: CTE Curriculum and Instruction Support Specialist
The Curriculum and Instruction Support Specialist assists and supports school district personnel in the design, development and implementation of CTE curriculum and instructional methodologies through ongoing coaching and professional development.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not supervise other employees.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Knowledge in K-12 curriculum and various effective professional development programs; ability to effectively communicate knowledge and skills to other certificated staff; skills to manage the work, set priorities, and evaluate progress toward outcomes; interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively and effectively with individuals and groups. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs. Experience working in curriculum review, design or implementation. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, students, parents and administration. Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication. Advanced presentation skills. Experience working in culturally diverse educational settings. Experience and understanding of instructional applications using multiple mediums including technology. Knowledge of child growth and development and how it affects learning. Evidence of ongoing professional growth. Experience in teaching and learning processes. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a group or team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit and stand and almost continuously walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach forward and above the head 0 - 12 inches and on occasion up to 18 inches. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 - 12 feet and up to 20 feet such as boxes of books and AV equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. The employee regularly interacts with students, staff and parents in addition to meeting multiple demands and deadlines from several people.
